Guilt is not always a warning

You may have learned that being easy to accommodate kept relationships smooth. Saying no can then feel uncomfortable even when the request exceeds your time or energy.

Boundaries are information

A boundary tells someone what you can or cannot offer. It does not have to be an accusation or a long defence.

Start small

Try a sentence such as, “I can’t do that this week.” Notice the discomfort without immediately explaining it away. If the pattern is persistent, therapy can help you understand its roots.
